SONDORS Fold X with Hydraulic Disk Brakes

Recommended Posts

Hydros are readily available in the aftermarket with cabling sized specifically for the Fold.  the furthest-right option on this listing is specific to the Fold.

This is a well-known member of the Sondors online community (Wendy Xie) so don't be freaked out by the fact its in China.  Kyle Chittock at velomobileshop.com is her U.S. distributor but he is out of stock right now.

You can ask him when he'll have them in again.  Ordering direct from Wendy takes a couple of weeks for delivery.

Unless you are willing to cut the new cables, reattach and re-bleed (correct answer is 'no') you will not be able to put the cables into cable guides on the frame.  This is a $4 fix to that.

Thank you very much for the help. I don’t mine that they are a China company, I have bought from them before.  I didn’t know if the Hydraulic Brakes would be ok on a frame that bent in half and not destroy the brake lines.

Thanks again for the links to the products.

need to know what "03   Info" means on my display i just jot my bike in December and already its giving me some weird code.... what does this mean - and how come you sonders is so lazy as to give out information on the LCD controller for my FOLD X. half of the codes and modes of the LCD are not described anywhere.

At the moment i'll just settle ok knowing what a flashing " 03 Info" on my display means. Everytime i use the assist throttle on my FOLD X - i get this message and customer support for sonders has been pretty cruddy... can anyone here help as to what might be causing the issue. there is also a slight noise form the motor that i do not recall hearing before (but perhaps its just me).

I put together my wife's Fold X and the front fork came apart after I reassembled it.I have a "washer".. left over. ;).
It is thick..maybe 1/4" or 7mm thick with a thin rubber washer on the inside in the middle.
It has a "lip" on one side and is flat on the other.
I need a blow up of the front fork to see where this goes..Us old-timers called it a Parts micro-fiche.
When I was in the Air Force we called it a Illustrated Parts Breakdown....I don't know what people call them now.
I have searched on here using all the combinations Of these that I can think of...no go!!!
      Thanks for your advice!!!

I purchased four Sondors and love all four but I love my wife more and she believes we have two too many Sondors so I listed two on the Atlanta, GA Craigslist. I purchased two Fold X, one Sondors X 7 with suspension & LCD and a Thin 7 with the LCD-suspension & the battery upgrade. The Sondors X and the Sondors Thin both are too tall for my wife and almost too tall for me. The Sondors Fold turns out to be the best fit for us for the type of riding we do. I discounted the Thin a little more because I would rather let it go rather than the Sondors X. I am trying to sell the Thin 7 at my cost minus the shipping and LCD Screen cost and the Sondors X at my cost minus the shipping. If we would have been able to ride the Sondors before purchasing we would had discovered the two were too tall and would have only purchased the Folds. If I do not sell the Sondors X I plan to strip the drive system and install it on one of my recumbents. If you live anywhere near Lagrange, Georgia and are interested in a Sondors bike but would like to ride one before purchasing any Sondors bikes contact me and I will try to arrange a test ride even if you are not interested in purchasing mine.  I do not have any other experience with electric bikes other than the four I own but I cannot imagine any others being much better than these except more size options.

Good day to all...While impressed by the package of the Fold X, 48v 500w bike, Id like to unlock some power. Will the Storm 20a controller be a plug and play upgrade? I have the Sonders LCD and throttle w/ on/off button.
