  1. Also, I've had pretty bad luck with Slime personally. What's been (finally) working for me is high quality tires and Tire Liners: https://www.rei.com/product/109739/rhinodillos-tire-liners-700-x-23-25-28-35-32-41
  2. I think it's going to be a little small compared to the triangle it looks likes. They state 16(L) x 3(D) x 11.5(H) x 13 (Bevel) inches on their site, but it seems like it will be worth it. I'll report back with images once I receive it and get it installed as well as a ride report on the 52v battery. Photo from their site: My Thin:
  3. Thanks @Reddy Kilowatt and @MattRobertson for your detailed replies. You guys are both so thorough and knowledgable. Interesting to think about a bag vs. a box. While I do like the aesthetic of the box, my ultimate goal is to build my ultimate commute bike (and have fun while I do it). Building a box myself is probably beyond my handy level (and the amount of time I have). I would be worried outsourcing the construction too without knowing exactly what I would be getting back. It's less about the cost and more about it actually fitting and working. I'm kind of surprised given the numbers of So
  4. Yeah, you can definitely see how far I'm pushing the box. 2.75" might just be too tight at the end of the day. I've thought of loosing all the case fasteners to see if I can get a little more flex out of them. I attached a couple more photos. Makes me think with just a little more sanding down work and removing the outer rubber casing I could just bared get it in there... What do you think? Luna said I could return the battery with a 10% restocking fee if I couldn't get it to fit, but my guess is if I take the external heat shrink off they won't take it. Luckily they are right near me in
  5. So I decided to go for a 52v upgrade on my Sondors Thin using the Luna Cycles 52V TRIANGLE PANASONIC GA 18650 14AH HIGH POWER AND LONG RANGE battery. I carefully measured and I thought I could just barely get it in to my Sondors Thin if I took out the bumpers for the stock battery and some of the cable guides. I got the battery and even after looking it I thought it would work (see attached photos). I used a Dremel to take out the bumpers that were in there and most of the cable guides in the top right. The battery looks like it was made for the box, dimensionally it fits like a glove, but (an
  6. I recently picked up the Topeak rack, trunk bag, and fenders. The installation was really easy and the fit seems to be great on the Thin. I'm not sure how the first would be on the fat bikes, but my guess is at least the fenders wouldn't fit. Here's the parts I bought: Topeak Explorer Bicycle Rack with Disc Brake Mounts: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FIAVHE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Topeak MTX Trunk Bag DX: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0187ZRLX8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Topeak Defender Tx Front & Rear Set
  7. Awesome! Thanks @MattRobertson for the tip on where to pick one up!
  8. Hey @johnc! I ended up not replacing my bottom bracket. It's basically impossible to find a direct replacement for it without going to Sondors. That being said on the crankset to my knowledge you have a large selection of basically anything that's a square taper. I just went to my local bike shop and found a crankset I liked and had them put it on. I got a crankset with a BCD 130 pattern so then I can swap on any chain ring that's 130 BCD. One thing I might do at some point is swap it for a 144 BCD (track bike) as my bike is a fixie it's easier to find fixie chain rings that are a bit be
  9. Cool. Do you have a Thin as well @Reddy Kilowatt
  10. I really want that battery to fit. I'm pretty sure with minor case mods I can make the 2.75" work... but will the rest of it fit? It's gonna be tight. See attached photos.
  11. I did end up picking up the Luna Charger 48v Advanced: https://lunacycle.com/batteries/chargers/luna-charger-48v-advanced-300w-ebike-charger/ To replace my Elctro Bike World one: https://a3ee3610-0553-11e5-8794-f04da2069d31.onlinestore.godaddy.com/products/48v-lithium-battery-charger I will say not only is it awesome having different charge rates and max fills, but it's fan is a LOT quieter. It's not silent, but it's made me a lot happier person when I'm charging my bike. One important note with the LT48 is the Luna Charger has a XT 60 connector and the LT48 uses the A
  12. Thanks for all the input and advice. My main issue is I want the speed. Most of my commuter riding is a short distance, but I want to go as fast as I can. I feel like the bump from 48v to 52v would be perfect, but the LT48 from Electro Bike World is the only one I've seen that for sure fits in the Sondors Thing battery/motor controller casing. I'd rather not replace that if I can help it... That Luna 52v triangle battery looks awesome and I've check it out before, but I've been unsure if it would fit in my bike without modding, or worse, removing the whole box.
  13. Has anyone tried out the Luna Cycle Batteries? Do any of them fit in the Sondors Thin and provide more juice (either 52v or more Ah) than the LT48 that Elctrobike World makes? https://lunacycle.com/triangle/ https://electrobikeworld.com/products/lt48-48v-14ah-lithium-ion-battery Any other manufactures anyone has tried? Thanks!
  14. Was thinking about getting this system @mike k. Thanks for posting the photos... the bike looks great with that. Chad
  15. After upgrading the front crankset, rear freewheel, (53/17 final gear ratio), chain, LT48 battery, 20-amp controller and display the bike was a beast. Easily commuting to work at 26-27mph and hitting 28-29+ with a bit more effort. The issue was at those speeds in LA traffic I needed the ability to stop fast too. And re-adjusting my brakes every ~2-3 weeks was also getting annoying. The solution was new tires, hydraulic brakes, and Rotors. Here's what I got: -- Rotors: Shimano Deore RT66 180mm 6-Bolt Disc Rotor Brakes: PASION E BIKE MTB Hydraulic Disc Cut Off Power Brake E-Bike
  16. Hey @Reddy Kilowatt - This is great, I didn't know about this charger. Do you know if it is quieter when charging at 1 amp for instance than the noisy charger that comes with the 48V 14Ah battery?
  17. @MattRobertson Thanks for the super detailed information! This is really helpful. I don't consider the cost a major issue and the only reason the bottom bracket really came up is because my bike tech mentioned it was making noise and when I put a lot of pressure on it it seems to creak too. I ride up some pretty steeps hills around here and with a 53/17 fixie setup I'm standing on the bike when I do. I still really like the simplicity of the fixie, and I think it looks cool, and it's only really an "issue" during those brief climbs over maybe 5% grade. This is super helpful though and I'
